Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using TextSafe (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users, including visitors and those who save or retrieve content.

2. Description of Service

TextSafe provides temporary, encrypted text storage that allows users to:

• Store text content encrypted with a user-generated passcode and optional color code
• Retrieve stored content from any device using the correct credentials
• Choose retention periods of 2, 7, or 30 days after which content is automatically deleted

The Service uses client-side encryption, meaning we cannot access or decrypt your stored content.

3. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

• Remembering your passcode and color combination. We cannot recover lost credentials
• Any content you store using the Service
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your access credentials
• Ensuring your use complies with applicable laws in your jurisdiction

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use TextSafe to store, transmit, or share:

• Content that violates any applicable law or regulation
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content exploiting minors
• Content that promotes terrorism, violence, or illegal activities
• Malware, viruses, or other malicious code
• Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Content used for harassment, stalking, or threats
• Stolen data, credentials, or personal information of others

While we cannot view your encrypted content, we reserve the right to cooperate with law enforcement when presented with valid legal process, and to terminate access to our Service for users we reasonably believe are violating these Terms.

5. No Account Required

TextSafe does not require account registration. Access is controlled solely by your passcode and optional color combination. This means:

• Anyone with your credentials can access your stored content
• We have no way to verify your identity or ownership of stored content
• Lost credentials cannot be recovered by any means

6. Data Deletion

All stored content is automatically and permanently deleted after the retention period expires. Deletion is irreversible. We do not maintain backups of expired content.

You acknowledge that TextSafe is designed for temporary storage only and should not be used as a long-term backup solution.

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• That the Service will meet your specific requirements
• That stored content will be accessible until the expiration date
• Continued availability of the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be secure, free from bugs or viruses, or operate without interruption or errors.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEXTSAFE AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of data or content
• Loss of profits or business opportunities
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Unauthorized access to your stored content
• Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which is zero for free usage).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TextSafe and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Intellectual Property

The TextSafe name, logo, and Service design are our property. You retain all rights to any content you store using the Service.

By using the Service, you grant us no rights to your content, as we cannot access it due to client-side encryption.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
